exams

Hello,

It is now the 9th of January, I just finished my second exam, Operations management. I thought it was quite easy. 30 multiple choise questions which were provided before and 4 open question which were also easy.





This year I celebrated new years eve in Madrid. First my exchange friends who where here came to our house to have dinner. At 21.30 we went to Sol with our bottles of Champaign and 12 grapes each. It was so crowded , not that I didn’t expect so. We had to put our drinks from the glass bottles into plastics glasses of 0,75l. Very funny to drink out of such a huge glass.
It was a bit boring to wait for 2 hours till it was 00.00 since I hoped there was some music or entertainment but it was not so we were just staring to each other. At 00.00 everybody was screaming, very funny but I didn’t here the bim bam on which you eat the 12 grapes so once I heard a bim a start eating the grapes very fast without counting, so we will see if I ate 12. If I did it will bring me luck.

After this we had to come out of the big mass of people. This was terribly hurting and a stupid guy tried to steal my wallet. After my very mad face to him he run away and didn’t steal my wallet jet. ( Am I so scary? ) hehe. Then we split up, half of us went to a party in a club for €50,- and Jasper , Marlies, Franseska and I went to Raul his Party. Raul is a Spanish friend of me and invited me and Jasper with our friends. His dad has a hostel and there is a club under this hostel where he and his brother had a new years eve party. The problem was that the hostel was outside the centre so it took us 1,5 hour to get there. Then we were so tired that Franseska and Marlies didn’t wanted to dance anymore. Jasper and I partied with the Spanish people but also we were tired. At 4 o clock we ordered a taxi and went home. I was really missing the firework and oliebollen. They don’t have firework in Madrid, by day it is forbidden and by night it was forbidden at least at Sol since I didn’t see anything 

Of course on the 1st of January you only lay in you bed to sleep. Also the rest of the days we were just laying in our bed , learning a bit. And we went to the city centre for the rabajas. Too bad , Zara, h&m , and some other stores start later with their rabajas so I have to go back.

The exams are quite easy here, For Operations management my average grade was more than a 8 , don’t know exactly what my grade was. This counts already for 60% , and also the final exam was very easy to learn since it was very clear what we had to do. I already had my Human recourse exam what was also very easy, there was a list of 15 questions and in the final exam we just got 3 of those questions.

Tonight I will have genesis of the modern firm, a better name would be history of economics.
We had the choise to make the cases and be in class at least 75% but because we had to wait 2 days 3 hours for this course we weren’t sure if we would be there 75% of the classes. The other option the teacher gave us was to make the exam. 60% of the exam would be from a list of question on internet. And 40% would be multiple choise questions. I thought, wow easy. Now I saw the questions which I have to answer with the 24 articles of 30 pages each and the 12 powerpoint presentations I am not so sure anymore. The questions must be answered with 2 pages answer each. I cant even answer all the questions and if I can only 4 lines. He didn’t provided the answers so this exam will be mission impossible.

Tomorrow I will have organisational economics. Also here I already have 50% of my grade which is a 8,8. So I think this exam will also be fine.
Then the 18th of January we still have Strategic management. Here we had to make 10 cases where my average grade is about a 6 and count for 20%. This cases were terrible, I all prepared them very well and it seemed to be impossible to get a high grade. Also we made a project , also terrible. I had to work 40 hours on it and hoped I got a very good grade since I need this after all the bad cases. I only got 5,7 and couldn’t believe this. I asked him so much questions , I told him very often that I couldn’t find the information I needed , still I put so much effort on it and I only got a 5,7. I was so disappointed.
Also the exam will be hard since this are 4 cases again. I really hope that I pass this exam since I don’t think I will pass genesis of the modern firm and I need to pass 4 courses to get an extra grant.

Now I have to learn again.
