halloween

Hello people, here I am again with my weekly blog.
It’s already Halloween, a party they actually celebrate here and we got a day of for it. I went whit Jasper to the 100 monteditos to have a nice lunch. It was very hot again today and it could be maybe the last real hot day. Wearing a t-shirt drinking a Kas-limon and eating a delicious little bread with smoked salmon and scrimps with the sun in my face I felt myself really lucky! That night we went out for dinner with our Spanish friends and also our Russian friend came with us. We went to bocadillo de calamaris where we got a bread for 2,70 with calamaris. We went to La Latina a nice neighbourhood of Madrid were we bought a drink from the chino sellers which you can find everywhere. After we went to our apartment were also some other Spanish friends came so we were with a big group. It was such a very very nice evening! They learned me the Spanish and Latin-America dances. They also told us a lot about Spain and their youth. One friend of mine has a seconds house in Benidorm and invited us to go with him there for a weekend which will be so excited. Also his dad has his own hotel and every year he gives a big party there and he invited us for that party as well. Our Spanish friends are really so, so nice!

We drunk some vodka’s so I thought , let’s talk in Spanish they thought it was very good, what alcohol can do with me!

The day after we had a day of again because there was a commemoration of the dead day. I took that day to relax a bit. I got my grade for Strategic management and also we got our comments on our final project so we improved it a bit. I got another 5 and that is so demotivating. Especially because I have 4 friends who are following this course as well. 3 of us just have grades between the 2 and 5 and I have one 6,5. But one of us has another teacher and they got one hour instead of the ridiculous 10 minutes we get for making the tests, she has instead of this insufficient grades only 8’s. I already asked him once what I did wrong since I am always preparing the cases and I also don’t understand what I do wrong in my final project but then he became angry and asked me ‘do you think that it is my fault that you don’t understand what you have to do?’ Normally you would think that you can say yeah I don’t understand you because you explained it a bit unclear but the problem is that you have to be careful to say such a things here. I decided to say that it was not his fault and I will try to make my exam and if I fail I tried to do the best I could.

Wednesday we had to go to strategic management again but I decided not to go. I know I can become really frustrated from thing which are in my eyes not really honest so maybe better to cool down a bit and I tried to improve my final project more.

Thursday we had classes for one day. We got a guest lecture from KPMG at human recourse. It was nice to have some variation. After three classes we had a meeting with our teacher from organisational economics since we have to make a case plus a presentation. Then I went to Marlies with Jasper. There we baked pancakes the whole day because we organised a dutch party for our exchange friends. It was a very nice day, we watched ‘Geer and Goor over de vloer’ in the kitchen, for those who not know this program it are two gays who are trying other proffesions and that is really funny. Take turns Jasper , Marlies and I baked one pancake and we had a lot of fun. Also the Duthch party was a great success. Our parents and friends had visited us previous weeks so we had drop, pepernoten, cheese and pancakes. Too badly I have to wake up always at 7 o clock on Thursday so I was so very tired that I went home around 1am.

Friday I had to work on my project with Artem ( Our Russian friend) and Jasper. I thought it was actually very interesting. We all had to give topics to our teacher and it had to be about Incentives. We came up with Goldman Sachs and the teacher chose our topic for the class. Jasper made some good things and Artem came at 16.30 so we already finished almost everything for the case. When projects are interesting they go really fast and then it’s not a problem at all to make such a projects.

Today I just relaxed a bit. It’s becoming autumn and cold and rainy so good weather for all the assignment, cases etcetera I have to make.
