It's holiday in Europe, the tourist level in Lisbon is rising again. I see traveller guides in 10 different languages, I start getting sick of tourists:p. They are always asking me the way, standing in the way and they are not going away. But all the tourists think I'm Portuguese and that pleases me.
Portugal in fire:
Nowadays Portugal is not doing well. Every day when I'm walking downtown I see huge demonstrations. I see a lot of people suffering, pickpockets in my supermarket and huge amount of homeless people. But the country stands also literally in fire.
The weather is unbelievable good for the time of the year, It has been 30 degrees for two months. There is a record of forest fires burning in Portugal. More than 450 fires and 4500 firefighters are needed to stop them.

It's midterm-period on the university. Only the finance courses has midterms, so I have only one midterm next Monday. Looks like paradise but we have more assignments then I ever did in Tilburg. Weekly assignments and 2 or 3 presentations for almost every course. Take nice clothes with you when you go to Lisbon. With presentations you are expected to dress up. Standards for erasmus students are lower, but still.
The course I like the most so far is strategy, organisation and leadership. The professor is extremely good and the format of the course is unique. On the Tuesday we learn the models and theory. On Friday we discuss a case. He don't start himself, a leader has to stand up. The first weeks I hated to go to this course, now it's my favorite. We go very deeply into the case material and I get to know a lot about for example the Portuguese retail sector.
My worst course is decision making. The material is difficult and the teacher has problems with it as well. She gets entangled in her formulas every single lesson, frustrating for us.
I'm looking forward, my parents are coming on Monday. Sad for them is that the weather gets worse. They stay for a week and we will also visit Porto. When they leave on Friday, I think of going to Coimbra. Two times a year, the biggest studentparties of Portugal are organised in Coimbra.

As you can see, our first flat pre drinking party, organised by me, was amazing. I have to prepare for my first midterm right now..
