Last weekend I went to Valencia, we came home at 01.30 so the Monday after I couldn’t go out of my bed. I made my homework for that week and rest a bit in the morning. Jasper went to the airport to pick up Xander a friend of him who I know as well. That night they came eating with me so I made some delicious tapas.
Tuesday we had classes and Xander came for dinner again. Wednesday we always have one class. That night we went to the parque de la Montana with our friends to have dinner end enjoy the sunset. It was a very nice evening. I still like the fact that so many people hang out in the parks at night. People from the age of 8 who belong in bed in the Netherlands at 21.00 pm and also a lot of people from the age of 80 who are outside the whole day long, while in the Netherlands a lot of them hang out inside their houses. It is so cute to see an old couple in the metro who help each other to go in. I guess people live longer because they are so often outside. I think I am going to miss my dinners in the parks when I am back in the Netherlands.
Thursday our Swedish friends organised a Swedish party for us. This was very nice, we were with 12 people and ended 1,5 bottle of Swedish Absolut vodka, and a lot of daim sweets and ballerina cookies. After we went out to Joy which was fun as well. Soon we will organise a Dutch party with the Dutch friends. Friday I woke up at 13.15, after I went to the park to go inline skating. I forgot my water so after 40 minutes I stopped with an enormous headache, ai, it is still 30 degrees and sunny despite it is already October. Jasper and Xander went for a walk through the park so I decided to join them.
Saturday we had a mini Dutch party, I went to Marlies and Merel with our Swedish friends and Xander and Jasper. I baked Dutch pancakes since I worked for 3 years in a pancake restaurant. After we went to Sala Heiniken, a tip of our Spanish friends to go there.
Actually everybody was a bit tired so at 01.30 I went home.
Sunday Jasper was saying good bye on the airport to Xander and after we had to learn for two tests we had on Monday. Too bad, the tests were so so difficult that I don’t think I made them well. The problem was that the test wasn’t about the lectures which we had learned so the whole class was stunned about the exam.
Tuesday we were so demotivated by the test that Jasper and I both skipped the classes and worked on our final project of Strategic management. Wednesday we were free because of a national party thing. We went to the parquet Juan Carlos I, were we should be able to rent a bike. It sound fun but when we came at the park there were so many people in line to rent the bike that we decided to just have a walk and relax a bit.
Thursday my best friend from the Netherlands, Jennifer, was coming. Joehoe! I picked her op from the airport at 19.30 and we went home for a dinner. After we had a little bottlelon in the park. Friday I showed her the Rio park and a lot of topics in the centre. It was so nice to show her al the great spots and all the things I like so much in Madrid. That night I took her to a tapas bar for dinner for her birth day. It was such a nice restaurant, a tip for other people the restaurant is called Orio. There are several tapas on the bar and waiters with plates of tapas. You can take as much as you want and you have to pay for the sticks in the tapas.
After we went out with our Spanish friend out my class. I never expected that I really would go out once with real Madrilène people, but they asked me and Jasper if we liked to join them. It was a great evening, first we drunk some sangria on the streets and after we went to 2 bars.
They asked us if we want to join them in the car every morning to the University which is really nice because the university is not really close to our house.
Yesterday Jennifer and I went out for shopping which is always nice to do in Madrid. After we went to Retiro.
We went to Sala Heiniken again with our Dutch and German friends that night. I didn’t like the techno music at all and some of my Dutch friends didn’t as well but we stayed and it was okay. We were at home at 5 o clock so despite the bad music the night was nice.Today we are going to the 100 montaditos for a breakfast and after we will go to the park to enjoy the weather. Hasta la vista!
