Hello everybody, last time I told you my best friend was here. I will continue my blog from here. Sunday we ate our lunch in a very nice bar, its called 100 monteditos. If you are once in Madrid you have to go here for sure. For just 1 euro you can get a little bread. This ones are really small, more like a tapas with for example smoked salmon and tortilla. Next you can get a pull with 0,5 litre of beer for just 1 euro or some soda. We had a nice lunch there and it is always crowed.
After we went to the Retiro park because it was still very sunny. We didn’t make it that late because the day after we had to wake up at 7 again. Jennifer went whit me to college, since she looks very Spanish my teacher was just looking for a second and then probably thought she belongs in the class. We had some presentations from our classmates. We make a final project of a company in groups couples,5 parts of strategic analysis of our company. If you want you can voluntary present every part you make, here it is very normal to so there are always enough volunteers. Also Jasper and I mentioned him we want to be volunteers since we thought we will get extra credits for it hehe.
After we had another class and Jennifer went to the school restaurant during that class because that class is always very crowded. That night she flight back to Holland . Times flies when you are having fun.
The rest of the week we worked very hard since my parents were coming on Saturday. We had to learn for two test, we had to make another part of our final project and we had to prepare a case. Saturday we got the keys of my parents and brothers apartment, and around 21.30 I finally saw my parents again :D I was so happy to see them since I missed them so very much! We already bought some tapas by day so we had a nice evening togheter. After Jasper, my brother and I went to sala heiniken to go out but Jordi and I didn’t liked the music so we went back to our apartment very soon.
The day after we went to the Retiro park to have a lunch and had a walk through the park. That night we went to a restaurants whit my parents. We had a nice menu del dia since my parent would believe that just some tapas would be enough to fill their stomachs.
Monday we had first classes, it was a very rainy day, also my first day with rain here in Spain. Too bad for my parents that day had to join this first day. I had first a presentation for the final project and after a review test . After our classes Jasper and I went to my parents apartment and went to the shopping centre in the south of Madrid. That night I gave my dad cooking lessons in my apartment and my mother and brother came to taste.
Tuesday we skipped our classes and I disclosed myself as a very good travel guide for my parents. We went to plaza cibiles, banco de espana and Mercado san Miguel. After a good lunch we went back to the city centre to go for shopping. Especially my brother liked the cheap prices in Spain for jackets and clothes. That night we convinced my parents to eat some tapas at their apartment and it was a very nice evening.
Wednesday was the big day tonight we go to the Coldplay concert. First we had a case for a grade. I always finish college at 10 o clock on Wednesday so I was early at my parents place. We went to Palcio Real whit was amazingly beautiful! Compared to el Escorial this palace tour is much shorter but also much more impressive in my opinion. It was worth the long time we had to wait in front of the door. After Jasper and I got a burger king menu for just 3,30 and went to the Ventas bull fight stadium. There we met Merel and Viola our exchange friends from here. We were there at 18 o clock and at 22 the concert started so this was unbelievable. The line was already so long at 18 pm. I was interviewed by a Spanish radio station and a Spanish television channel in Spanish. It made me a bit nervous but how cool that I could answer in Spanish :D First we had places right behind to beamer plates but after we saw some people walking over the hence to the free places next to us we followed them and had very good places. The concert was so awesome! I will never forget this evening, not just the concert was cool but also the stadium was unbelievably fantastic! An old and the biggest bull fight stadium of Spain.
Thursday we had again a review test after we had two other classes but we just took one more and then I went back to my parents since they will leave me tomorrow already. We went back to the centre to go shopping and had a very nice evening at their place.
Friday we went to the Ventas stadium with them and we went to the Pc Hoofdstraat of Madrid. We live so close but also jasper and I didn’t went once to this street. My lucky brother found some very nice shoes which were not that expensive comparatively to the Dutch PC. Around 17pm the had to leave me and I was sad again. It’s so hard to say goodbye to your parents but luckily I will see them in two months again with Christmas.
Saturday was just a lazy day, we become a bit bored since we have already seen so much of this city. We will go soon to Sevilla, Cordoba and Grenada. We made some zand cookies and went for a walk to Retiro park.
Today we worked again on our final project for strategic management and just relaxed a bit. In other words we were a bit bored again hehe. It’s time to go finding something nice to do tomorrow. It is Halloween tomorrow and my Spanish friends invite me to go out with them since here are a lot of Halloween parties in the clubs so I am curious. It’s for sure that Spanish people are celebrating this US party more than we Dutch people do.
